Hello, We currently have raised garden beds that have grown nice vegetables in previous years for our staff and students.  Unforunately, our school garden has not been utilized this school year and is in need of some TLC.  Since our school has put a strong focus on science this year, a couple of science teachers have decided to take on the garden project for the purpose of experiments. We are excited to provide students a hands-on experience using real-life items, plus teaching the responsibility of taking care of something so it grows is always an important lesson.  Websites like this are a great resource for us and we can't wait to get started!

Hi! Kyrene del Cielo Elementary School PTO in Chandler, AZ is working hard to build a garden for our students and teachers. Right now we are in the planning stage but our Community Build Day is just a few months away in April. The student in the photo is daydreaming about when the garden will be buzzing with activity and brimming with herbs, veggies and flowers.

Does anyone have suggestions for the best vegetables to grow during Spring in the Phoenix area? Our climate gets hot so quickly that we need heat tolerant plants. Thanks!

Thanks to our grant from Western Growers and a little elbow grease from our students and a local Boy Scout Troop, our garden at Wildflower has been transformed. Here is a "before" picture.

At Ingleside Middle School we planted sunflowers before the summer break. Everyone was so happy to see the different types of sunflowers at the beginning of the school year and I heard from some teachers, parents and students how welcoming and happy the campus looks;)

We are getting ready to prep our beds for fall planting. Any thoughts about tilling or not tilling?
