Eligibility
Applications will be accepted from California and Arizona schools, grades K-12, to support a new or existing school garden. In order to be eligible for the Western Growers Foundation School Garden Grant, the school or entity must be classified as one of the following

  • Public School
  • Private Charter School
  • Private school with 501(c)3 non-profit status
  • Private charter school with 501(c)3 non-profit status
  • 501(c)3 or charity non-profit organization supporting a garden at a public or non-profit private school
  • School districts supporting a garden at a public or non-profit private school

 
Application Period
Application Opens: September 8, 2017
Application Closes: September 30, 2017 at 5pm CST
Notification to All Applicants: October 13, 2017
 
Conditions

  1. Grant recipients will be subjected to a Grant Agreement and are required to submit a W-9 before payment can be issued.
  2. Grant recipients will be required to send in periodic updates. Refer to Grant Agreement for report due dates. 
  3. Grants must be spent by June 15, 2018. Grant recipients will be required to send in a copy of receipts or proof of purchase(s). Receipts must add up to the grant amount. Failure to submit receipts adding up to full grant amount will result in school being invoiced for the remainder.
  4. One grant application per school or non-profit organization. Schools or non-profit organizations that send in multiple applications will be disqualified.
