At Ingleside Middle School we currently have an abundance of greens, herbs, radishes and kohlrabi, so our students decided to start selling thier produce not only at the local farmers market, but also to staff and teachers of the school. The money will be used to buy transplants and seeds for the upcoming spring planting.

We are new to this site and are excited to connect with other school gardens to share ideas and insight how best to teach the next gardening generation. Our latest project, creating an outdoor class seating area, teachers wanted an area to have students sit while working on assignments that were garden related. Recycling bottles and cans to raise funds to purchase grapes for the arbor now. Always on the hunt for donations and funding!
We now have 30 families and local business participating in our composting project-- turning food waste into "black gold." Our goal is to get 40 participants by the end of the year...we are getting close!
At Ingleside Middle School we planted sunflowers before the summer break. Everyone was so happy to see the different types of sunflowers at the beginning of the school year and I heard from some teachers, parents and students how welcoming and happy the campus looks;)
